FEES

TOUR & EXPERIENCE BOOKING

Our motivation at this time of COVID-19 is to support our tour guides, local artisans and service providers, so unless a significant amount of work is required to make the booking, we will simply refer you to the appropriate tour guide or service provider contact and you will book directly with them. We will not charge you for this service. In some cases we will receive a very small commission payment from the providers of the tours and experiences. This will not change the price you would pay had you simply booked directly with them without our referral.

CONSULTATION

A one-hour phone Consultation costs JPY20,000 (+ 10% sales tax) and can be conducted via Zoom, Skype, What’s App or even face-to-face in some cases.

Following your phone consultation, we will send you a summary of our conversation, including the locations discussed, a draft of any itinerary discussed, as well as the names of any accommodation options (please note however that we are able to obtain preferential rates, &/or extra benefits at many of the accommodations we have connections with).

We will also make direct referrals for you to our guides and service providers.

You can then either book everything for yourself, or request our support:

PARTIAL SERVICE

We prepare a full itinerary for you with links to all accommodations, restaurants (that do not require our direct booking), recommended transport times, transfers, etc, travel times, suggested activities, sight-seeing spots.

We will also make direct referrals for you to our guides and service providers.

The costs of this service will depend on the exact itinerary and number of travelers, however is approx. JPY20,000 per day of travel (including the start & end dates).

FULL SERVICE

We prepare a full itinerary for you, booking all accommodation, restaurants, tours, experiences, transportation – as required – so that you can enjoy a seamless journey with 24/7 support whilst you are traveling.

The costs of this service will depend on the exact itinerary and number of travelers, however is approx. JPY30,000 per day of travel (including the start & end dates).

 

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for all services.

Full payment must be made 30 days prior to the tour date.

Payment can be made by bank transfer (no additional cost), PayPal (+4% transaction cost) or credit card (+3% transaction cost)

 

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

In the case of trip cancellation, please refer to the schedule below:

  • 30 days or more prior to tour date – Loss of deposit
  • Between 30 – 14 days prior to tour date – 30% of total tour price will be forfeited
  • Between 14 – 7 days prior to tour date – 50% of total tour price will be forfeited
  • Less than 7 days prior to tour date – no refund

No refund will be made if clients voluntarily leave a tour for any reason after the tour has begun. Please note also that each accommodation will have their own refund and cancellation policies which take precedence over our company policy. We will inform you if you are booking accommodation with a no-refund policy.

Refunds will be at the discretion of Tokyo Personalised if clients are involuntarily forced to leave a tour for any reason. Tokyo Personalised reserves the right to cancel any tour departure before it is guaranteed to run. Tokyo Personalised reserves the right to cancel any tour, including a guaranteed tour, prior to departure due to reasons outside its control (i.e. natural disasters or political instability). In such a case, Tokyo Personalised will refund the tour price. Under extraordinary circumstances caused by civil unrest, terrorism, natural disaster or other force majeure, either party may cancel the tour. If such cases occur 30 days or more before tour departure, Tokyo Personalised will refund customers fully less the deposit. If such cases occur within 30 days of departure, Tokyo Personalised will refund customers fully less the deposit and any Tokyo Personalised expenses incurred to date that are directly related to preparation of such tour. Such expenses may include preview trips conducted specifically for the above-mentioned tour.

TIPPING

There is no tradition of tipping in Japan. No Japanese expects or will solicit tips. If, however, you feel your guide has provided you with excellent service and you would like to reward that please feel free to offer a tip.
